Course Summary & Description:

This manual provides painting guidelines to engineering, operations, maintenance, and construction personnel and other individuals responsible for the protection of U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) structures. It gives general instructions on corrosion and corrosion protection using protective coating and state-of-the-art procedures that can be employed on Corps projects, which can aid in attaining better and, from a long-range viewpoint, more economical paint jobs.

This manual is divided into 11 chapters covering a wide variety of USACE requirements and guidelines. The major topics covered in the captures include the manual overview and introduction; Corrosion Theory and Corrosion Protection; Paint Material Specifications, Procurement, and Testing; Coating Types and Characteristics; Coating System Selection; Maintenance Painting; Surface Preparation; Coating Application; Coating Inspection; Safety; and Environment and Worker Protection Regulations.
